The Jockey Club of Canada Announces 2020 Sovereign Awards Finalists and Virtual Ceremony Presentation

The Jockey Club of Canada is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2020 Sovereign Awards honouring Canada’s champions and recognizing their outstanding achievements in Canadian Thoroughbred Racing and Breeding. The winners of the twelve horse categories and the five human categories will be announced at the 46th Annual Sovereign Awards Ceremony that will be held virtually in April 2021.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, it is the opinion of the Jockey Club of Canada’s Board of Stewards and the Sovereign Awards Committee, that in our current climate the safest delivery of the event is through a virtual presentation. The health and safety of our finalists, our guests and their families are of the utmost importance and we feel this is a necessary precaution in the current situation.
