Rob and Bruno Fiorvento, Blair Law and Bill Randall's three-year-old filly, Racing for Gold (Finality) purchased in the 2010 CTHS Sale from her breeders, Mr. and Mrs. and K. Dittloff and scored a thrilling victory Saturday at Hastings when she won the sophomore filly division of the $50,000 CTHS Sale Stakes by a shortening neck. The winner was trained by Phil Hall and ridden by Amadeo Perez for her new connections. The final time for the 8.5 furlongs over the fast racing strip was 1:46.59 and the win return was an even $6.00. Garry, Laurie and Roland Kugler's Tempered Sapphire (Tempered Appeal) just missed in the photo but finished a neck in front of Dance the Wind (Second in Command), the heavy favorite, who was racing for Clive and Linda Lytle.
