On season ending race day, at scenic Hastings Racecourse, under a sunny autumn sky the 1st race offered the faithful a solid Maiden Special Weight for 2-year-olds going 3 1/2 furlongs on what is known as the Nursery course. BC-bred Finaly Classy quickly made the lead and held strong while being pressured to his outside by Jack's Reign, eventually powering away, under encouragement from jockey Antonio Reyes, to win by 3 lengths. The chestnut gelding with a large curious white blaze is trained by Pat Jarvis and is owned by Marie Weisenberger who plucked him from the 2017 CTHS Yearling and Mixed Sale for $8,000. Finaly Classy was bred in BC by Dr. Sheila McDonald, Ron Bidniak and Karen Bidniak and they will receive a $5,000 bonus for their good work and the owner receives another $5,000 for her astute purchase. This fine juvenile is by BC sire, Finality and out of the productive mare Classadala who has delivered multiple stakes winners Classic Alley Kat and Victory with Class.
