At a meeting with the industry associations held at the Derby Bar and Grill on Wednesday August 31st, all parties signed their approval to new incentive programs for 2016/2017.

The CTHS BC believes that these programs will help stabilize the horse population at Hastings in 2017 and provide for future growth to the foal crop moving forward. During our discussion all parties acknowledged the need for assistance for small breeders and owners. Increasing the racehorse ownership base helps everyone. The ability to sit down and discuss issues of mutual importance is vital to strengthen both the breeding and racing industry. The CTHS BC will continue to work with our industry partners looking for the best way to encourage growth in our industry.
