The stakes placed, 3-year-old chestnut gelding passed his stablemate Proof It just before the wire and held off a fast closing He's the Reason, another barn comrade, to win by 1/2 length. The final result made for a Glen Todd trifecta, paying $125.30 for the correct $2 wager. Owned by the powerhouse North American Thoroughbred Horse Company, trained by Glen Todd and bred by Salishan Meadows and North American Thoroughbred Horse Company, Pan Handle is by Texas Wildcatter and out of the Thunder Gulch mare, Thunder Goddess. Thunder Goddess has also produced winners Odin and Easter Sunday.
