North American Thoroughbred Horse Company, Inc.
and an honour graduate from the CTHS British Columbia Sale made it three black-type scores in a row Monday, when he ran away from the best on the grounds to win the Lt. Governors Handicap by two lengths over Sue and Kay Ohashi's Three Wood, who fiinished a short nose ahead of third-place finisher, Tres Hombres' Senor Rojo. An easy win in the
$50,000 John Longden Stake
s and a repeat performance in the
$50,000 Sir Winston Churchill Handicap
for older horses has vaulted this gelding to the head of his division. Trained by
Troy Taylor
and ridden by
Fernando Perez,
the winner covered the 8.5 furlongs in 1:43.63 after leading under pressure all the way over the 'wet fast' track. Taylor Said, out of Fleet Amyanne was purchased in the CTHS Yealing and Mixed Sale as a yearling and has a full-sister nominated to the 2012 sale in the Can-A-Mex consignment that will surely attract a lot of attention.
