Sunday, June 3rd at Hastings Racecourse the 5th race tilt, an optional claiming Allowance for 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, brought together a salty group of six ladies to go six and one-half furlongs. The stakes quality 6-year-old chestnut mare, Sailingforthesun showed she has not lost her winning touch. Ridden patiently by jockey Dennis Araujo, Sailingforthesun put herself into contention coming into the stretch and rolled quickly by the leaders to win by a comfortable length. She is expertly handled by trainer Robbie Anderson and is owned by her breeder Foundation Stables. Sailingforthesun is by Sungold out of the ultra productive broodmare Sailpast. Sailpast is the producer of other great stakes winning BC-breds like Slewpast and Gosailgo, as well as, stakes placed winners Slew's Boy, and Sail On By plus other winners. This fine broodmare by No Louder has produced runners which have amassed over one million dollars in earnings, not something you see under many mares lines. A beautiful thing.
