In the 1st race at Hastings Racecourse on Saturday, July 21 a 6 1/2 furlong Allowance test for 3-year-old fillies which are non-winners of three (BC bred), Under Par jumped out of the gate, made the lead and never looked back, winning by 2 1/2 lengths, in 1:17.42 while being ridden by jockey Aaron Gryder. The stakes placed BC bred filly is owned by Canmor Farms and Maureen Goss, and trained by Mark Cloutier, who is having an exceptional season to date. Under Par, sired by Stephanotis out of the German bred mare, Big Bertha, was bred in BC by Glen Todd. This is the 3rd winner from 3 starters for Big Bertha. Loire Miller has consigned a yearling filly by Texas Wildcatter out of Big Bertha to the 2018 CTHS Yearling and Mixed Sale being held on September 11th at Thunderbird Show Park in Langley, BC. Under Par is one fast filly which will likely be testing her speed in stakes company soon.
