A beautiful sunny Father's Day Sunday at Hastings Racecourse brought us the John Longden 6000 for colts and geldings, 3-year-olds and up, to go 1 1/16 miles. The 4-year-old BC-bred gray or roan gelding Driller got the perfect stalking rail trip under rider Silvino Morales and ran away from his competitors entering the stretch before hitting the wire 2 lengths clear. Driller is trained by Mel Snow and owned by Dan Danard and Mel Snow. Driller is Texas Wildcatter's best son out of Kiss of Gold and he was bred in Langley, BC by Fran Snow and Mel Snow. This is Kiss of Gold's first stakes quality runner.
